Instructions on How to Properly Unlock a Fingerprint Door Lock
Step 1: Unlocking with Fingerprint
Place your finger on the sensor for a few seconds to allow the system to recognize and authenticate it. Once the fingerprint is verified, the lock will automatically open, or you can turn the handle to unlock the door. Make sure your finger is clean and dry to improve recognition accuracy. If the system fails to recognize the fingerprint, try again or check if your fingerprint has been registered.
Step 2: Entering a PIN to Unlock the Fingerprint Door Lock
Most fingerprint door locks are equipped with a PIN entry option. A number keypad will appear on the screen for you to enter the code. Typically, the password length ranges from 6 to 12 digits. Users can customize their password, with longer codes being harder to remember.
Currently, Osuno’s fingerprint door locks allow virtual passwords of up to 24 digits. Users can add numbers before or after the main password and still unlock the door. This feature helps prevent intruders from spying on your password, enhancing security for your family.
For example, if your password is “121212,” you can add numbers like 000121212000 and still unlock the door as long as the 6-digit main password is included.
Step 3: Using a Key Card to Unlock the Fingerprint Door Lock
Key cards are a common method of unlocking today. Simply place the card on the “card” symbol at the front of the lock. The card will be recognized, and the lock will open quickly. However, ensure that the card has been registered with the lock system. If not, the lock won’t recognize the card and won’t open. Using a key card is especially helpful when carrying items or if you don’t want to take out your phone to unlock the door.
Step 4: Unlocking the Fingerprint Door Lock with a Mechanical Backup Key
In addition to modern unlocking methods, all smart door locks come with a mechanical backup key for use in situations like low battery, power failure, or if other unlocking methods malfunction. The unique feature of the mechanical key is that it uses CNC cutting technology with a zigzag pattern, making it impossible to duplicate.
- Use a spare mechanical key: Most fingerprint locks come with a mechanical key for use in emergencies such as power outages. You should keep your keys in a safe but easily accessible place.
- Using a backup power source: Some fingerprint lock models are designed with a USB charging port or backup battery connector (such as a 9V battery) to provide temporary power, helping you unlock easily.
- Check the lock’s battery: If the lock uses a battery and the battery is low, you need to replace the battery promptly or use a temporary power source to restart the lock.

How to Properly Clean a Smart Door Lock – Tips for Long-Lasting Use
Electronic locks are technology products. Proper and regular cleaning will help maintain the fingerprint sensor’s sensitivity over time. However, improper cleaning can easily turn a functional lock into a broken one. Below are some “magic tips” for you:
- For the internal lock mechanism: Use gasoline for lubrication to prevent friction caused by long-term dirt buildup.
- For the external surface: Clean with a glass cleaner or a soft cloth dampened and wrung out.
- Avoid using oil, chemicals, or industrial cleaners when cleaning the lock, as they may damage the lock structure, circuits, or discolor the lock.
- Do not scrub vigorously or use abrasive brushes that could scratch the lock.
- Cleaning should be done regularly and properly.
